I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore the challenges you or your family may be facing. I have experience working with clients of all ages supporting a wide range of issues such as anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, and identity concerns. Alongside talking therapy, I also use creative approaches with colour, imagery, and art-based tools to help clients find new ways of managing their day-to-day lives. My focus is always on helping individuals recognise their strengths, build resilience, and move towards a more fulfilling and empowered way of living.
I have specialist knowledge of working with young people, including those with ADHD, and I understand the impact this can have not only on the child but also on the whole family. Parenting a child with ADHD can feel overwhelming, confusing, and at times isolating. In counselling, I support parents to process their own emotions, develop practical strategies for communication and boundaries, and strengthen their connection with their child. Together, we can explore ways to reduce stress at home, build confidence in your parenting, and create more positive, supportive routines that allow your child and your family to thrive.

The impact of ADHD is vast from facing lack of motivation, impulsivity, compulsivity, procrastination, overwhelm and various bouts of anxiety and depression or parents challenged by a complex balancing act within the house. Hi, I’m Nicola. I’ve spent over twenty years working in primary education, so I understand first-hand the challenges and rewards of raising and supporting children, especially those with ADHD. Alongside that, I’m a BACP Accredited individual and couple’s therapist and a clinical supervisor. This mix of experience means I can offer both practical insight and emotional support to parents who are navigating family life with ADHD at the centre.
I’m passionate about helping families feel understood and supported. My aim is to create a warm, safe space where parents can talk openly about the ups and downs, feel less alone, and find new ways forward. Whether I’m working with individuals or couples, I focus on building confidence, strengthening relationships, and helping families spot and nurture the unique strengths ADHD can bring.

Parenting a child with ADHD or other forms of neurodiversity can feel like loving with your whole heart while carrying a weight that no one else seems to see. You may feel judged by other parents, worn down by school meetings, or quietly guilty for craving just five minutes of peace. Perhaps you lie awake worrying about your child’s future, or catch yourself wondering if you’re failing them, even though you are giving everything you have. These are the silent thoughts so many parents hold in and they can leave you feeling isolated, anxious, and never quite “good enough.”
I understand, not only as a counsellor, but as a parent of a neurodiverse child myself. I know the unseen battles, the exhaustion, and the fierce love that drives you forward. Counselling with me offers a space where your voice matters, where you can lay down the weight for a while and be truly heard. Together we can work through the guilt, overwhelm, and constant “what ifs,” helping you find steadier ground. Life can begin to feel lighter, with more patience, calmer, and moments of connection with your child that feel less clouded by worry. You don’t have to carry this alone.
